2011년 8월 16일, Brandywine Communications Technologies, LLC(이하 Brandywine)가 팬텍을 포함한 상기 업체들을 상대로 특허 침해 소송을 제기했다.
Brandywine은 플로리다 중부지법에 제출한 소장을 통해, 상기 피소들의 무선 랜 카드가 자사의 관련 특허를 침해했다고 주장했다.
3) 분쟁특허
▪ US5373149 - Folding Electronic Card Assembly
상기 특허는 AT&T Bell Laboratories가 출원한 특허로서, PCMCIA(Personal Computer Memory Card International Association, 퍼스널 컴퓨터 규격 협회(PC용 카드의 규격을 협의하는 국제 기구의 명칭, 또는 그 규격) 무선 카드 모뎀에 관한 것.

4) 관련 소송
Brandywine은 지난 8월 12일, Verizon Communications, Inc., Centurylink, Inc., AT&T Inc. and Earthlink, Inc.을 상대로 특허 침해 소송을 제기했다(사건 번호 6:2011cv01344). 분쟁 특허는 상기 소송의 분쟁특허와는 다른 US5828657, US7894472, US6970501, US5444704,US5206854, US5251328, US5812537 총 7건이다.
